TRI TRI

The game Tri Tri is set on a digital board that presents colour combinations using the chromatic circle. It can be played by up to four students.

The game integrates the ColorADD® colour identification code for people with colour blindness: a monochromatic graphic system based on universal concepts of colour interpretation and variation, which allows colour-blind individuals to identify colours. The mission of the ColorADD® project is to facilitate colour identification for colour-blind individuals, for their social integration and well-being, through more efficient, responsible, and inclusive communication.

Opportunities for Educators

Tri Tri is a digital board game that helps enhance students’ alternating attention, as each round brings a different symbol to focus on (exercising attentional focus) and requires the use of visual perception, visual memory, and logical reasoningthereby involving several cognitive experiences.

To play, students must match request cards to answer cards. Each round, players must respond to requests using the cards they have at their disposal.

There are 5 types of requests involving primary, secondary and complementary colours, and 6 answer cards: red, blue, yellow, green, orange, and violet.

If a player does not have the answer card, they can mix colours to form others. This function is only enabled when the combination is possible based on the cards the player has.

The player who gives the correct answers and manages to get rid of all their cards first is the winner. After the winner finishes their play, the other players can continue playing until the round ends.

  • Explore the colour wheel with students before playing so they understand the relationships between primary, secondary, and complementary colours.
  • Motivate students to verbalize their colour combination strategies.
  • Promote discussions on accessibility and inclusion, highlighting the importance of ColorADD®.
  • Use the game as a starting point for artistic or scientific activities related to colours.
  • Encourage teamwork and brainstorming during group matches.
