The Painting educational software is a vast digital library of drawings to color. It offers a variety of interactive tools and a watercolor palette with a wide range of colors and textures. With the Painting app, students have the opportunity to experiment with different ways of creating, recreating, drawing, and painting, allowing them to explore color combinations, mixes, shapes, and textures.
Mechanics
This is a single-player app (one child at a time), but it can also be used for cooperative work. On the start screen, under the “Menu” button, it is possible to enable or disable narration, music, and sound effects. In this same menu, users can access information about the app and return to the home screen.
To start, simply click the “Paint!” button. The next screen will display the available images to choose from.
While painting, children can select several tools:
Watercolor palette with 19 colors and 36 textures.
Tools: Pencil, Brush, Paint Bucket, Eraser, Texture Pen, and Ruler.
Different paper formats.
Save activities to the Gallery or to a USB drive.
The app also allows customization by adding new drawings to color through the Playmove Class portal.
The Painting app provides educators with a great way to stimulate sensory integration and generate multiple brain connections. It enhances fine psychomotor skills as children experiment with different tools, and it fosters concentration. The goal is to encourage children to explore the best color combinations, harmonize shades, and learn to identify contrasts and color harmonies.
The PlayTable’s touchscreen, responsive to human touch and soft-tipped objects, creates a rich environment to explore with interactive tools and features. It is especially inclusive for students with motor or cognitive limitations, who can interact using brushes, styluses, or other soft-tipped objects.
Observe students’ autonomy in choosing colors and tools, and how they explore different textures.
Encourage students to verbalize their creative process, asking about their choices and what they are trying to express.
Use the customization feature to integrate the app with lesson plans, special dates, or class projects.
Foster collaboration among students, either by discussing the best color choices or by creating a collective mural of saved paintings.
Take advantage of the app’s accessibility for students with motor or cognitive challenges by providing the right accessories to enhance their experience.
