The Activity Centre is an interactive digital library featuring a variety of activities. Its purpose is to provide a playful and welcoming environment that helps develop children’s motor coordination, creativity, and cognitive skills. The activities are designed to resemble traditional paper, but with the added benefit of digital interactivity, allowing the use of tools such as paintbrushes, touch pens, and adapted accessories to promote an inclusive and fun experience for everyone.
The activities are organized into thematic books and include challenges such as mazes, spot-the-difference puzzles, object-matching games, line tracing, and grid drawing, among others. The goal is for students to explore the activities freely and independently while developing essential skills for their development.
On the home screen, there is a menu with options to adjust sound effects, music, and narration settings, as well as information about the app’s operation.
In the centre of the opening screen, there are two options to choose from:
Activity Books – gives access to the thematic books and a sequence of activities.
When an activity is selected, a clipboard appears displaying the exercise. On this screen, students can choose the pencil or brush, the eraser, and even change colours using the palette on the right side.
When they are finished, simply press “Finished” to save the activity.
By enabling the “Exercises in Sequence” button, it is possible to choose how many activities the student will complete, which can be 5, 10 or the entire book. When the student taps “Finished”, a new activity from the same theme will automatically become available.
Gallery – stores all completed activities, allowing the educator to track students’ progress.
The interface is friendly and accessible, with simple, visual commands that foster children’s autonomy.
The Activity Centre serves as a versatile tool for educators to achieve different pedagogical goals. It can be used during reinforcement activities, in learning stations, or as a main activity in literacy, arts, or motor development classes. The variety of themes allows teachers to select activities that best align with the curriculum and engage students through playful and interactive challenges.
In addition, the app is an excellent resource for Special Education, as it allows adaptations and respects each student’s pace, fostering the development of executive functions and self-control. Educators can use the gallery to track individual progress and provide feedback on the choices students make during the activities.
Plan around your goals: select the activity books based on the objectives of the class (e.g., motor coordination, literacy, visual attention).
Observe the process, not just the outcome: track how students interact with the activity, what strategies they use, and how they deal with challenges.
Use the gallery as a portfolio: encourage students to revisit their work and reflect on their progress.
Foster autonomy: let students freely choose colours, tools, and ways to solve challenges, thereby stimulating creativity.
Evaluate and record observations of students’ motor development, attention, persistence, and strategies used during the activity, valuing their individual progress.
